AGE & WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS

To experience the thrill of our guided ATV tours, drivers need to be at least 15 ½ years old with a learner’s permit. Passengers should be at least 5 years old or weigh at least 50 pounds. Everyone needs to sign a waiver before we start. Single ATV riders must be under 463 lbs, and when riding double, the combined weight should be below 615 lbs.

Note: Our tours aren’t recommended for those with neck or back issues or for pregnant women. Please check each location’s specific requirements before booking.

SEDONA WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Sedona’s weather can be unpredictable, so it’s best to come prepared. In winter, dress in layers because it can get quite cold. We offer gloves for purchase if you need them. Remember, there’s no storage on the ATVs, so bring a backpack for extra jackets or hats. If the weather isn’t suitable for your tour, we’ll do our best to reschedule or offer a gift card/credit for a future ride.

ATV OPERATION ON TOURS

Before we hit the trails, our friendly guides will show you how to operate the ATVs. If you’re still unsure after the demo, we might suggest an alternative activity or have you ride as a passenger with someone else. We want everyone to have a fantastic time!

PAYMENT, DEPOSITS, AND GRATUITIES (TIPS)

Before we start the adventure, we ask for a $500 security deposit per vehicle. The cardholder is responsible for any damages, even if someone else was driving. Our guides work hard to make your tour unforgettable, so while tips aren’t included in the tour price, they’re always appreciated! For groups of 6 or more, we include a 15% gratuity upfront.

PRIVATE TOUR REQUESTS

Want a personalized adventure? Our private tours are just the thing! They require payment for at least 6 people plus a 15% gratuity. Unfortunately, we can’t offer private tours during our busiest times: March/April, Sept/Oct, holiday weekends, and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Feel free to contact us to book your private tour!

CANCELLATION POLICY:

To get a full refund, please cancel at least 48 hours before your tour date. If you cancel within 48 hours, we can’t offer a refund, but we can reschedule or provide a gift card/credit for a future ride. We understand that things happen, so just let us know as soon as possible if you need to make changes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ATV AND A UTV?

ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) and UTVs (Utility Task Vehicles) are both popular for off-road adventures, but they have key differences.

  • ATVs: You ride ON an ATV and control it with handlebars. These are typically single-rider vehicles, designed for more agile, individual riding experiences. Our guided ATV tours are perfect for those who prefer this type of adventure.
  • UTVs: Also known as side-by-sides, RZRs, or Honda Talons, you ride IN a UTV and drive it with a steering wheel.

UTVs: Also known as side-by-sides, RZRs, or Honda Talons, you ride in a UTV and drive it with a steering wheel. UTVs can accommodate multiple passengers, making them great for groups and families. They offer a more stable and comfortable ride, with seatbelts and a roll cage for added security—ideal features when touring with Arizona ATV Adventures.

CAN I RENT A UTV (SIDE-BY-SIDE) FROM ARIZONA ATV ADVENTURES?

Arizona ATV Adventures primarily offers guided ATV tours. However, for your convenience, we provide a pickup location for UTV (side-by-side) rentals through our sister brand, Sedona Off-Road Center. You can book various options, including a 2-hour rental of a 2-seater, perfect for hikers wanting to explore trails like Devil’s Bridge and Vultee Arch.

Additionally, we offer 4 or 8-hour rentals of a 4-seat Honda Talon, allowing you to visit sites like the Palatki and Honanki ruins, and the Birthing and Subway Caves. These rentals launch directly from our ATV Adventures office in Sedona. All contracts and rentals are handled by Sedona Off-Road Center.

Please note, we only offer this service in Sedona.

Can children ride on ATV tours or RZR rentals?

Children must be at least 5 years old or weigh a minimum of 50 pounds to ride as passengers on ATV tours. Children under 5 are not allowed. For RZR rentals, children must also be 5+ to ride as passengers, and all passengers under 18 must wear helmets, which are provided free of charge.

Do I need previous ATV experience to join a tour?

No, beginners are welcome and no prior ATV experience is required. All tours include a pre-ride instructional session, demonstration, and skills test that drivers must pass before hitting the trails. The ATVs feature fully automatic transmissions, and guides adjust the pace and difficulty to match your group’s experience level.

What are the weight limits for ATVs?

Single-rider ATVs have a weight limit of 463 lbs. Double-rider (tandem) ATVs have a combined weight limit of 615 lbs for both riders. Guests must stay within these limits to participate in the tour.

What is the practice loop and skills test?

Before every guided ATV tour, drivers participate in an instructional session followed by a hands-on demonstration on a practice loop where they test the vehicle’s controls and handling. Drivers must pass a skills test demonstrating their ability to safely operate the ATV before being allowed on the main trails. If a driver is not confident after the demo, guides may reassign them as a passenger or suggest an alternative.

What happens if the weather is bad on tour day?

Sedona weather is unpredictable, and tours operate in most conditions. If weather makes the tour unsuitable, Arizona ATV Adventures will attempt to reschedule you for another day or offer a gift card or credit for a future ride. Dressing in layers is recommended for all tours.

How far in advance should I book an ATV tour or RZR rental?

Reservations are recommended as availability varies by season and time of day. Peak periods including March, April, September, October, and holiday weekends book up quickly. You can book online through the website or call (928) 282-8540 to check availability and reserve your spot.

Are gratuities included in the tour price?

No, gratuities are not included in the base tour price. For groups of 6 or more riders, a 15% gratuity is automatically added at booking. Private tours require 18% gratuity. Gratuities for smaller groups are appreciated but not automatically included.

Can I use Afterpay to book a tour or rental?

What forms of payment and ID are required?
